canvas & camera: an exhibition of paintings and photographs
May 8 through June 28, 2008
featuring the works of San Francisco artist veerakeat and french photography artist
jean-francois rauzier at Laura M. Fine Art & Jewels, Malibu.
set amongst some of the finest diamonds and jewels in the world you will find an
exhibition of incredible works by famed San Francisco artist veerakeat, whose
work is filled with color and motion. Interestingly, he gets his inspiration
from photographs he takes while wandering the city, day and night.
in sharp contrast to veerakeat's loose brush strokes you will find the precision-based
work of jean-francois rauzier, creator of the hyper-photo, a technique he
created by taking literally hundreds of photos with a telephoto lens then
seamlessly stitching them together to create a large scale photograph as
clear and precise in the foreground as it is in the background. Plus a
little added surrealist imagery here and there.
